Nathan Kendall is an experienced sound recordist and documentary cameraman with a confident editorial command. A First Class graduate of art school, and with a background in research and production underpinned by a six-year apprentice as a camera assistant, his mixed-discipline experience spans broadcast documentaries, feature documentaries, corporates, commercials and print.

Naturally inquisitive, Nathan brings a coolly intellectual and sociological edge to subjects to entertain curious minds. His extremely practical and lateral approach, creative technical grasp, and solid editorial understanding have earned him a reputation as an asset to any production, whether working autonomously or as part of a crew. Nathan’s as self-assured with a camera as he is with a microphone and mixer - look is cinematic, atmospheric, emotionally provocative, and honest - neither schmaltzy nor dour. He focuses entirely on what a shot is about and how it fits into the overall story.

With a keen eye and initiative, he applies ideas in an imaginative, often counter-intuitive way that offers a different perspective on a subject - He imbues complicated stories with intimacy and a sense of humour, achieving big results with limited resources amid the chaos of documentary filming.

Nathan continues to develop a slate of personal projects in between his freelance documentary and editorial assignments.
